Someone you know and love is expecting a child. If you are a parent you know how special this time is. Children are truly blessings from heaven. When someone we care about is having a child we want to get them that perfect unique gift to help celebrate. Some of the best gifts are personalized gifts.
Here is a listing of some of the best personalized and unique gifts a mom can receive:
Our favorite is the last one, and it would cost under a dollar and take less than an hour.
- Dinners already prepared with instructions in her freezer. She is going to be pretty busy for awhile and not feeling her best. By having some ready to go dinners in her freezer she will have more time to enjoy her new child and still have a home cooked meal.
- Remember the older children if there are any. Sometimes it is easy to feel a little left out when you are the older sibling. Take them out for some fun or bring them a little surprise as well as the new baby. I assure you the mother will be deeply appreciative that you thought of her older children's feelings.
- If you are close enough to the family to do this without awkwardness, mow the lawn when it needs mowed or scoop the snow when it needs removed. If you ask "do you want me to mow your lawn, or scoop your sidewalk" most generally the answer will be no I can get it later. These chores will be especially appreciated if the new mom is a single mom.
- We all say let me know if you need something from the store or some errands ran, but rarely are we taken up on it. Be specific and sincere. Call up the mom and say I am going to the post office - do you need any stamps or anything mailed, or I noticed store abc has diapers on sale and I am going to get some - do you want me to pick some up for you too? Mom will know you mean it and it will be easier for her to take you up on your offer.
- Bake something. When you are making a batch of cookies for your family double it and drop them by.
- It is tough for moms to get back in shape after pregnancy. If she mentions she would like to start walking or exercising offer to go with her when she is ready. Then follow up on it.
- Start a scrapbook with the newspaper announcements. It is much easier to maintain an already existing scrapbook than to get it started.
- Offer to baby-sit and make it easy for mom to say yes. A quick phone call on an evening you have free with a sincere offer to baby-sit will be appreciated. Maybe mom just would like you to come over an watch while she takes a bubble bath or nap.
- Buy her a camera that automatically dates pictures and a photo album.
- Send her a letter from the stork. When she goes through her junk mail and bills she will find your letter nestled in there and it will brighten her day. We at Jorbins.com have wrote one up for you to use free of charge. Just find a piece of pretty paper and maybe a matching envelope and copy our letter and send it to your expectant mom.
A Personalized Letter From the Stork:
We like to use Lucinda Calligraphy in font size 18. You can also adapt our letter to go to a father or to both parents.
Dear _______.
I have been reviewing my list of deliveries and when I came to your name I couldn't help but smile in anticipation.
I am especially pleased each time I get to deliver a baby into the arms of such a special mom. I know that your (friend Kathy, mom, Aunt Patty, husband Don, etc.) agrees with me.
We both look into the future and can see how truly blessed any baby who calls you their mom will be.
We know any baby I deliver to you will be loved and cherished. I can hardly wait until your delivery is ready myself.
Rest assured, I will watch over your special package carefully until the time comes.
