It is a big battle everytime I need to change my son's diaper, he starts to fuss, cry, and scream every time. What could be the problem, and advice for me?
Some kids don't care to have their diaper changed, but they don't want them wet or poopy either.
What I would do is make sure your wipes are warm, that you aren't using any kind of powder or cream that burns or irritates and then try to do the best you can.
Changing diapers CAN be a kind of bonding time since you have each other's undivided attention. Try to make it a happy time if possible, keep calm, smile, and talk sweetly and see if that helps.
Where do you change your baby, I found with one of my son's he didn't mind being changed so much if I changed him in the room he was already at.
He didn't like being carried into his room to be changed, I don't know if he thought I was going to put him down for a nap or if he just saw it as an interruption but by changing him in the family room (where he usually was) that seemed to make it okay.
One of my daughters didn't care for having her diaper changed so I tried to make it fun from the start. For a few minutes before I changed her I would play peekaboo with a diaper, get out a wipe and wash her feet, whatever it took to get her happy.
Then I just kept it up while I changed her and for a few minutes after. It actually got to be a fun time for both of us.
