How to Choose A Good Preschool

Samantha (Guest) Said,

I really think I want to send my daughter to preschool next year and know that I need to be applying now, but I don't know how to choose the best one. Any tips or advice from other parents?

Stevie (Guest) Said,

This probably is not a fair analysis of every preschool but I think that a lot of time the preschool's that are incorporated into a daycare facility are not as good as ones that sole purpose is to be a preschool.

Granted the convenience for parents that send their kids to daycare is nice if the preschool is at the same place. But I think the other kind is better because that is their only focus.

DannieB (Guest) Said,

Ask around, go visit the preschools, you could even call some daycare centers - they would be a real good resourse I am thinking to which preschool's in your area are the best.

In my area a lot of the daycare's transport kids to and from some of the preschools.

I would also make sure to ask about class size and how many teachers when you visit and check out the different preschools.

Vi (Guest) Said,

I am sure it is not always the case but I have always liked the preschools that are affiliated with a church. It seems to me like they tend to have smaller class sizes and patient teachers.

My son will start kindergarten in about a year, not sure if we should send him to preschool beforehand or not. He know his alphabet and numbers so I don't think he will have any academic problems once he starts school.

Any advice?
