My daughter loves bubble baths, but recently she got a bladder infection and the doctor said it may have been caused by the bubble bath.
The nurse said a good idea would be for the bubble baths to not be too long and then let her rinse in clean water afterward. I don't want her to get another bladder infection but I hate to make her quit taking bubble baths. So I am going to cut down on them and then try the clean water rinse and see if that prevents anymore.
I wasn't aware of that, my doctor didn't mention it. My little girl just got a bladder infection last month, she also loves bubble baths.
From what I understand that your daughter may be at more of a risk for bladder infections and urinary tract infections by continuous bathing in overly soapy water. This means bubble baths or any other soap/shampoo products. I am not saying that your child couldn't in one sitting but most generally continuous - so I have been told. Here is some rough guidelines:
If you bathe your daughter everyday be sure to space out the bubble baths every couple days.
Avoid any harsh shampoos, soaps, bubble baths, foams, fizzies, etc.
If your daughter likes to play in the bath for long periods of time then you should wash your daughter with soap and shampoo at the END of the bath so she does not sit in the soapy water for a long periods of time. Also try and avoid heavy bubbles on longer baths.
As the first poster stated you should always be sure to rinse in clean water to be safe.
