Bath time in the morning or evening which is better for sleep?

kara Said,

When it gets close to bedtime I can see my son start to get tired but it seems like he gets a second wind right after his bath amd then has a hard time settling down to sleep.

I am wondering if changing his bathtime to either morning or an hour or two before bedtime would help. I am reluctant to change the bedime routine that has worked for a couple years though.

What does everyone think?

For me it was bath time in the morning or if it was in the evening it needed to be at least an hour before bed.

Bath time seemed to wind my daugher up a bit. Now my nieces and nephews are the opposite they are ready to go to bed after their bath no problem.

Yeah I have this same problem. We have to give our kids about an hour after their bath before so they could wind down. I usually think that an evening bath should be given since kids tend to get real dirty. During the day when it is super hot the kids play inside. They do most of their outside playing early morning when it is cool and in the evenings when it cools. Since they play in the evening they tend to get all sweaty and dirty. An evening bath can get that uncomfortable stikyness off their skin and be fresh in the morning. For the most part though it depends on the parents schedule as well. For working parents morning bath time just may be out of the question.
