Dog lover gifts, the ideas for these types of gifts are endless!! The first thing is does this dog lover have their own dog? If they do you can give them items with a picture of their dog on it. T-shirts, coffee mugs, a photo album cover, you can even start a scrapbook for them that is centered around their dog.
One fun thing you can do is take a picture of their dog and take it to a photography studio to have a statue made out of it. Any dog lover would appreciate a gift like that.
If your dog lover has a favorite breed of dog you can find items pertaining to that breed to give as a gift. I have found a ton of great german shepherd, collie, husky, boxer, lab, and spaniel items.
Maybe they would be interested in tickets to a dog show. That would of course depend on if there was one in your area. Your gift could even include a nice dinner or lunch.
Did they just get a puppy? Maybe they would like to take it to obedience class. That is an especially good gift if the dog lover is a child. They can learn together.
There are a great many fiction and non-fiction dog books. You can find inspirational, books, as well as books by breed. Go browse the bookshelves or surf the net and you are sure to find some great dog gifts out there.
While it must be a sincere offer, you can always offer the gift of dog sitting or dog walking. Most dog owners worry about their dogs when they are gone and would be thrilled to have someone that they knew well to care for them. This gift could be given when you know your dog owner is going on a trip. You could make up a little gift basket with some munchies for the trip and include your "dog sitting gift certificate".
