Italian Gift Basket

An Italian gift basket. It sounds difficult to create but it is not. you can make your own unique Italian gift baskets very easily.

I like to first pick out my "basket" when I make up an Italian gift basket.

I have used large bread baskets, picnic baskets, but my favorite was when I used a large stainless steel colander.

You can go with more gourmet Italian items if you like or you can even make an Italian gift basket that is a spaghetti dinner with a few extras!

If you are giving a gift to someone just starting their own household you may want to include a pasta spoon and a cheese grater.

Some items I have included in Italian gift baskets include mozarella crackers, olives, bread dipping boats (I always include some bread dipping herbs if I go that route), a pasta and some sauce that compliments it, some olive oil (I prefer extra virgin), garlic crackers, an Italian wine, and chocolate dipped biscotti.

If you are giving this basket to someone who is planning on visiting Italy a nice travel guide could be included.

I have also added a variety of cheeses to these baskets, it depends on the size of my "basket" what all I can add to it.

Another route to go would be an Italian pizza gift basket. Include the items that they would need to make their own pizza. This is a fun gift basket to give to families with children. Most kids enjoy helping in the kitchen and very few kids don't enjoy pizza!
