We are always wanting something to snack on at our house while we are playing games or watching a movie. I find that I get a lot of help with supper clean up if I announce I am thinking of making cinnamon pecans. Everyone pitches in so I can get started making them, after all the sooner they are done the sooner the tasty pecans can be eaten.
Last Valentine's Day I made up several batches and gave them out as gifts. I have been reminded several times this year already that my last year's gifts where delicious and people are hoping it is now a tradition. This year I think I will include the cinnamon pecans recipe as well.
Ingredients:
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of water
3 teaspoons of cinnamon
a dash of salt
3 1/2 cups of whole pecans
How to Make:
Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Cook to soft ball stage which is 235 degrees Fahrenheit. Then add your cinnamon and salt and mix well. Lastly add the pecans and keep stirring until your coating hardens. Pour out onto a cookie sheet covered with wax paper and let them cool. You may need to spread them out a bit so they don't get clumped together.
