I am looking for tried and tested chocolate cookie recipes that I can add walnuts to. I would prefer they not have to be refrigerated before baking, but if the cookies taste good enough then it would be worth it!! Can anyone share their's with me?
These have to be refrigerated but you can at least drop them on the cookie sheet and not have to make balls out of the dough. My family loves them!!
1/4 cup softened margarine
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cocoa
1 cup chopped nuts
Cream margarine, shortening and sugar and then beat in the egg. Then add your buttermilk and vanilla. Add your dry ingredients and then the nuts.
I then chill it for an hour or two. Then I drop them with a teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet and bake them for about 8 minutes at 400 degrees.
This cookie always reminds me of Christmas time, this recipe doesn't get made too often but always at the holidays. If you share baked goods with neighbors and friends they look so nice in the assortment.

Monster cookies are a favorite around our house and they don't seem to last long. There is nothing like a mug of cold milk and a few cookies to dip into it for a great bedtime snack. They take a few minutes longer to mix up because there are so many ingredients and you need a really big container to mix them in but they are worth the extra effort.

I came across this pretzel cookie recipe awhile back and finally decided to make them. I loved the way they turned out. They had some texture but were soft at the same time. We really enjoyed the taste that the pretzels added to the recipe. Several people tried them and liked them but none of them were able to identify that it was pretzels that were added to the chocolate chip recipe.
What I really liked about this recipe is the cookies tasted good not only freshly baked but a few days later as well. I find some cookies don't taste nearly as well two or three days later but this is not one of those recipes.

I know I have had them and I even think my grandma used to bake them. Does anyone have a recipe for lemon cookies? I remember them being crisp and tangy but I cannot find a recipe for them anywhere.

I am sure my grandmother used to freeze chocolate chip cookies. Basically can I freeze any kind of cookie for a few months and them still be good? I realized they won't be quite as good as fresh from oven but they have to be better than store bought ones. Don't they?
