Vegetable Cake?
Okay this may be a dumb question but can you make a cake like a carrot cake with some other vegetable other that carrots? Not a baker so I really don't know.
I seem to remember my grandma making a zuccini cake but I don't remember just how similar it was to carrot cake. I will ask my cousins and see if they remember.

Do cakes need to have both or at least one or the other to cook right? I guess I don't even know what each ingredient does and how important they are to recipes.

I see at the grocery store you can by grated carrots, will they work just as well when you make carrot cake or will it make the taste and texture not as good?
