I was talking to someone at the grocery store when we were both looking at the tomato selection and I mentioned what had happened to my tomato crop last year and the lady said my plants had a disease called verticillium but we got interrupted before she could tell me how to prevent it. Help!

You need to rotate the garden space where you grow your tomatoes. I change my garden arrangement every 3 years to keep from getting diseases like verticillium.
