Too Mature Cucumbers

Everyone else probably knows this, but I just found out that if you miss a cucumber when you are picking them and it gets too large you still want to pick it, or the plant may quit producing more cucumbers. I used to let them grow just to see how big they would get. Not anymore!

I guess I have never heard that but it makes sense. After I and my neighbors are about cucumbered out I tend to not get out there and pick them right away and then they seem to quit growing. Makes sense to me anyway.

Yeah I knew about that one. I regurarily pick ours mainly for that reason. On the other hand, sometimes the plants just produces way too much and we just can't eat or even give away enough cucumbers so we let them grow out to slow their production.
