Celery Temperature

I have heard celery is tough to grow unless you have the right climate. What is the coldest and hottest your summer should be in order to attempt growing celery? Any info helpful.

I really don't know what the hottest and coldest it can be is but I do know it takes a long time to grow (a long growing season) I have an uncle that starts it inside and then transplants it (I think that is what he does). I had some last fall and it was good!
