Pinching back Petunias

I was visiting an acquaintance and she said she never pinches her petunias back and the plants remain full with lots of flowers. Does she have a different kind of petunia than maybe my mom always had?

They probably are growing wave petunias. With the wave petunias you don't have to pinch them back like with regular ones.
I have found that I can find more colors of petunias if I plant petunias other than wave, but anyone that doesn't have or want to spend a lot of time taking care of the flowers would probably be happier with the wave variety.
