I called my brother yesterday and he was telling me about his garden. He said I could get plenty of cucumbers being that they were tasting sour. Now my brother has always grown a garden every year and never in his life has he had the cucumbers to taste sour. Does anybody have any idea about this or what may have caused it? .....sisterm
What variety of cucumbers did he plant. I am just wondering if it is the cucumber variety he grew and that they are suppose to taste sour.
Hmmmm...sour cucumbers?
I am thinking variety. If you could find out variety let us know. Some questions to ask:
What variety of cucumber did he plant? Was it the same or different?
Has the growing conditions been dry or wet? Have the cucumber plants been watered too frequently?
Were they under shade and damp for long periods of time? Most cucumbers grow best in full sun generally warm/hot weather moderate watering. At least this is my experience.
Has the soil been changed (as in added new soil) or fertilized in any way?
Does the cucumber plants look like they have been diseased or attacked by pests?
Were the cucumbers picked too late or too early for the variety?
