I have a whole bird farm going on in my back yard and would like to know if I need to put oranges away from the other feeders, or does that matter.
Thanks
I put mine on the end of the shepherds hook that I hang some feeders on. I also have some long screws at the top of my clothes line pole to hold the lines on and I often put apples up there, but I guess I could put up an orange.
I don't know about the rest of you but I peel the top half of the orange down a bit. I have also when I am in a hurry just cut them in half so they can get to the fruit part of the orange.

My neighbor told me to cut an orange in half and stick it on a branch in the tree to attract orioles, will this really work?

If you enjoy watching orioles and have some in your backyard a fun thing you can do is put out short pieces of white string and watch them pick it up and take it to their nest.
