We love apples in the summer, especially the small bitter green apples. After awhile the apples seem to get worms, how do these worms get into so many apples on a tree. Do the bird pecks in apples cause worms, is it an insect problem or what?

I planted some Bing Cherry seeds and they grew quite well here in south Texas. Tree is completely loaded with cherries but they do not get red. They get a pinkish green and fall off the trees. Putting in a cool dark place does not ripen them. Does anyone know what will it take to get them ripe?

If I understand it correctly the normal way to plant strawberries is in the fall and then the following summer they start producing strawberries. Can you buy plants to plant in the spring that will produce?

I have seen on several gardening shows that gardeners put straw around their strawberry plants, I don't see the straw throughout the garden, so why in particular the strawberries?

Can anyone recommend some good varieties of strawberries? I am looking to have some be early and some late varieties so we have fresh strawberries all the time.

I am not sure if they even do if things are going right. I know you have to replace and rotate strawberry plants but do you have to raspberries?

Do the raspberry plants attach on to the wires or do I need to weave them through or something? Somebody mentioned tying them on but how do I do that?
