Self cleaning or self cleaning surface oven

I am getting ready to purchase a new oven for a home we are buying, a built in wall oven, and am wondering if I would be happy enough with a self cleaning surface oven or if I will be disappointed I didn't spend the extra money for the "true" self cleaning oven. Mine at the home we are selling is neither.

I am just really wishy washy about which type to get, after I make that decision I can start looking at the different models.

I went from a regular one to a self cleaning oven and I wouldn't ever go back. I don't know about the surface type you were talking about but I will give good reviews for having a self cleaning one. It really works well.

I would go with whatever type eliminates the most work and scrubbing. I hate cleaning mine and vow to get the best when I can replace it with a new one.
