Quartz Countertops

Drew (Guest) Said,

I can't see why anyone would choose garnite countertops over quartz. I guess they are actually called engineered quartz but who cares really. This surface seems way superior to me when it comes to counters, especially in the kitchen.

Georgia (Guest) Said,

I too am sold on quartz countertops, I wondered if anyone has any opinion whether DuPont, Zodiac, or Silestone are better than any other.

JC (Guest) Said,

Drew,

Some people like granite and that is fine. But I do agree the quartz countertops that have became available in the last couple of years are great. A real pro is that although they cost roughly the same as natural stone you don't have all the maintenance costs and efforts.

I hate the expense but I am thinking it probably is worth every penny to have corian counters in my kitchen. I haven't yet found another solid surface that impresses me as much. Any thoughts?

Maybe I am missing something but to me these would not be a wise remodeling choice, especially in the kitchen. They stain easy and require so much care that I would think it would be a bad decision. Can anyone fill me in on why it is a good choice for the kitchen?
