Corner Cabinets

Lance (Guest) Said,

I am undecided on what to do when it comes to my corner kitchen cabinets. Lazy susans just don't seem real durable.

Td60 (Guest) Said,

There are other alternatives for corners yes, but you can find quality lazy susans nowdays as well. Some people that have problems and don't like their lazy susans have lower quality construction and then they fill them up with too much weight.

Glenn (Guest) Said,

You can install a drawer section for your corners too. then the kitchen cabinets on either side will just angle out for a little extra room.

BradleyT (Guest) Said,

You can easily have corner cabinets with shelves too. Just one side of the corner is a fake door. One problem with this is it can be tough to get to some of the items.

Jess (Guest) Said,

Don't they just have cabinets build for a corner that work like regular ones (with that angled extra space).

What I mean is a lot of kitchen cupboards have two doors one on each side and they open out. Wouldn't the corner cabinets be the same way?

karla (Guest) Said,

I'd like to see a cabinet fit into a corner to hold a microwave and oven with drawers in the bottom and doors at the top. Possible?

Cyn (Guest) Said,

Anything is possible. That would be kind of neat to have, but I would think you would have to have the cabinet custom made.

Corin (Guest) Said,

I bet you wouldn't necessarily have to have it custom made. There are so many people doing upscale things in their kitchens these days that i bet if you looked around you could find them.

Rick (Guest) Said,

That would have to be a really large corner cabinet to have an oven and a microwave I would think. But I have seen some that are similar that hold a microwave oven, maybe a typo?

Gene Smith (Guest) Said,

Corner drawers that have angled faces utilize the space better than the alternatives. Most of the expensive corner pull outs have a 15-20 pound weight limit per shelf. 3-4 drawers will give you as much suface area as those units, and everything is reachable.

Instead of putting in new kitchen cabinets I want to try to just reface them, anyone got any hints for me to do it easier. I am pretty handy but have never done anything like this before.

My wife and I are building a home and we really have gotten along great with all the decisions. She ruled the roost in the kitchen picking out the cabinets and counters and all of that. But she wanted my opinion on hardware choices such as the cabinet handles and drawer knobs. The only disagreement we had was when I said what does it matter what knob or handle we have.
