Marble Countertops
Maybe I am missing something but to me these would not be a wise remodeling choice, especially in the kitchen. They stain easy and require so much care that I would think it would be a bad decision. Can anyone fill me in on why it is a good choice for the kitchen?
Marble countertops are not for everyone but they do look good in marble bathrooms. You can also have your countertops made of artificial marble (sometimes called cultured marble countertops).
You really don't see the difference in the end product but because it has crushed marble mixed in with other materials it is much more durable and withstands moisture, chipping, and staining better.
But you still have to be careful when you are cleaning it.

I hate the expense but I am thinking it probably is worth every penny to have corian counters in my kitchen. I haven't yet found another solid surface that impresses me as much. Any thoughts?

Just thought I would share this with everyone, most people probably say duh, of course it is easier to do the backsplash after it is installed. But in case anyone is trying to remodel their kitchen on their own without much experience I thought I would share this.
