Lava Countertops
Hello Experts,
We are looking for any research or information on Colima lava countertops.
How does it compare to granite or quartz products in terms of useage?
Any info related to the durability, practicality, viability would be appreciated.

Lava ones are totally the nicest countertops around in my opinion. But they are expensive and sometimes hard to find.
They repel water so water damage isn't a big concern, they don't scratch, and you can set a hot pan on them and they won't burn.
I have never heard of the brand Colima though. It is a volcano in Mexico though.

Maybe I am missing something but to me these would not be a wise remodeling choice, especially in the kitchen. They stain easy and require so much care that I would think it would be a bad decision. Can anyone fill me in on why it is a good choice for the kitchen?

Does anyone have any opinions on if I am going to be sorry I didn't go to the extra expense in my kitchen and just do solid concrete instead of concrete countertop tiles?

Just thought I would share this with everyone, most people probably say duh, of course it is easier to do the backsplash after it is installed. But in case anyone is trying to remodel their kitchen on their own without much experience I thought I would share this.

I hate the expense but I am thinking it probably is worth every penny to have corian counters in my kitchen. I haven't yet found another solid surface that impresses me as much. Any thoughts?

I can't see why anyone would choose garnite countertops over quartz. I guess they are actually called engineered quartz but who cares really. This surface seems way superior to me when it comes to counters, especially in the kitchen.
