Kitchen Cabinet Hardware

My wife and I are building a home and we really have gotten along great with all the decisions. She ruled the roost in the kitchen picking out the cabinets and counters and all of that. But she wanted my opinion on hardware choices such as the cabinet handles and drawer knobs. The only disagreement we had was when I said what does it matter what knob or handle we have.

I know what you mean we ended up with new decorative handles for our refrigerator out of all this. But did you really look and see all the choices you can find knobs for your drawers and handles in so many choices it is mind blowing. Is there really that big of a market out there for cabinet hardware?

Okay you guys I got to chime in here. You wouldn't believe how many people notice things like drawer handles and cabinet knobs when I show houses. Yeah it is mainly the women but it does get noticed. Plus that is an inexpensive way to change the look of your kitchen.

Okay I am in the construction business and it seems to be a big deal the guys are interested in the slides, locks and the technical stuff and the women are into the handles, pulls, and knobs. But I have really seen some kitchens look more put together I guess with some decorative hardware. You have brass, stainless steel, glass, and you can find designer ones in about any shape or design you can think of.

My dad was with me one time when a couple was discussing choices and he couldn't believe it, he went home and told my mom how "silly" it all was. Then to his disbelief my mom got interested in it and had him replacing all of theirs in what she called a more "western" motiff.

He still shakes his head sometimes when he talks about it, but deep down I think he enjoys them too.

Do you know a good place to get some of the Corian knobs? I would like to get some to match my countertop.

I can't post any urls here but if you search for Corian hardware you should find quite a few, I just had a customer order some online from a site that was called cool knobs and pulls. You can find cabinet handles to match your countertops to I believe.

Linda when you find what you like look around for prices, you will find some places put a high markup on their cabinet hardware, especially some of the more designer type knobs and handles.

The corian knobs are nice but check out some of the glass knobs that are available they make a nice contrast to corain countertops.
