We are replacing our old floor in our kitchen and we ran across some natural cork flooring. It sounds nice and looks good. From what I understand it is durable and wears well.
I have cork flooring and I love it. It is easy to clean and seems to be wearing very well (my floors still look like new).
An added benefit is it seems to absorb noise, makes sense but I had never thought about it before, when my kids all troop through it doesn't sound like a herd of elephants.
I would recommend cork flooring in the kitchen to anyone who likes the look.
Cork flooring is not getting enough credit for all it can do. It seems like it is warmer on the feet than other floors we have had, which is great for our kids.
I also want to share with you my mother-in-law came for a visit and she has back troubles, she commented that she seemed to be feeling better while she was here.
She did a lot of baking with the kids (and cooking for us) while she was here so she spent more time on her feet than normal and most of it was in the kitchen.
After she left her back hurt again and when she was telling her doctor he told her that cork floors are great for people with back problems.
They are having new cork floors installed in their kitchen and dining room this week and plan on doing some of the other rooms too!!
I had never even heard of natural cork flooring and am researching options for the new house we are planning on building next spring. I read you alls posts and then did a little more research and we will be having cork flooring in our home.
My husband has back problems at times and it never occured to us that the right flooring choices at home could make things easier for him.
Thank you all!!!
